I agree that paying big bucks for M$ Office for many people can be a
mistake. However, we live in a windows world. I recently redid my resume
and it was done of course on a windows machine in Word 98. When I tried
to open it in AW 6, much of the formatting was lost even though I have the
MacLinkPlus translators. Bullets, font abnormalities, etc. were common
place. If I had a recent Office version I doubt I would have had any
problems. When I started putting bullets back it also changed the font and
the size of the text. Very strange.
The last word program that I used was 5. C'est la Vie! Also, these days
you can buy Word as a standalone (or bundled with Entourage).
Macroviruses only infect IF one is not careful. To each his own.
