Dear List,
Several weeks ago I asked your help when I set up a factory
refurb.Iomega Zip CD burner. The suggestion which helped alot was to
get Fuji CD-R media. The spindle of Imation CD-R media is useless
(that's what I get for asking Compusa employees for a
recommendation); the Fuji works perfectly with iTunes. So my kids are
happy, because they want to burn tunes (I want to archive data).
HOWEVER, Toast 4.1.3 insists "No CD recorder. Please check cables and
power". The USB is plugged directly into my 333 MHz (OS 9.1, 160 meg
memory) iMac's USB port (iTunes works fine off my USB port hub),
Apple System Profiler recognizes the burner, etc.
Somebody mentioned an iTunes/Toast conflict, but disabling iTunes
extensions doesn't help.
Is this a hardware problem (I bought it refurb) or a software problem
(if the latter, where is it documented). Does anyone know if Toast 5
is conflict-free?
Thanks in advance,
Patrick Draine
