I went to find this 1.1 update and had trouble locating it - the url
provided only brought me
to the index page- I eventually located it at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58178
The main iMac updates page is at:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58174
Perhaps their url naming system was revised.
Apple said, " iMac Update Version 1.0 was released September 2, 1998 and is
only for installation on the original Bondi blue iMac, and only if it is
running Mac OS 8.1 Hardware Required: Original iMac (Revision A) Note: The
iMac Update 1.0 is no longer available from Apple Software Updates sites. "
Good luck Katie.
Now I'm going to open a fresh can of worms:
It's worth noting that Apple says if installing update 1.1,
"The iMac Firmware Update must be installed. If you haven't installed the
iMac Firmware Update, the iMac Update 1.1 will not install."
The only firmware update provided there is 1.2, and the info on this says it
is for those using Netboot:
> " The iMac Firmware Update 1.2 should be installed on all iMac computers
> used in NetBoot client environments. Features
> delivered with this update include improved support of NetBooting and...
It also says it incorporates 1.1 So are you supposed to install this version
(1.2) even if not using Netboot (whatever that is) ?
I guess it wont hurt to have a feature you dont need.
A search of the Apple site turned up only the "about Firmware Update 1.1"
file, not the installer.
Good luck Katie.
