Hello!

I am considering a subscription to RoadRunner. My understanding is that in
order to hook up several iMacs (in this case 3) to the cable modem, I will
need a router. Two questions: Do I need a separate hub or do some (or all)
routers also function as hubs. Also, can anyone recommend a brand of
router. Id appreciate hearing any pros and cons regarding a particular
type or brand of router. Ive used Macs since 1988 but am new to networking
so any help or resources would be greatly appreciated.

I have an original Bondi (Rev A) iMac running System 8.6 and will be
networking with a 400Mhz iMac DV SE (System 9.1), and a 500 Mhz iMac (System
9.2.)

One additional question, I'm planning on having cable modem and router in an
unheated garage which can get quite cold in winter (though unusual, it could
go down to as low as zero degrees Fahrenheit.) Is there any problem with
this?

Thanks!
-Michael
