Not really. I don't know the guy anymore than I would have known someone who bought it on ebay. He's a friend (who I don't know) of a friend (who I do know).
Sorry you're unhappy with the price. It's what the market will bear. He had the same access to ebay, resellers, etc that everyone on this list has. He chose to buy that machine for that price. Capitalism in action. I'm not worried about failures any more than I am when I sell a car to someone. There is no warranty expressed or implied. One detail that was incorrect from the original post is the amount of RAM. It had 384 MB, not 192. Although I doubt that accounts for a huge price difference. Hope this helps to relieve any angst you feel about the deal. -- tinman [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Put your trust in God, but keep your powder dry." > From: "Cathy Welsh" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (iMac List) > Date: 20 Mar 2002 21:01:15 -0800 > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (iMac List) > Subject: Re: iMac resale value > > uh...that's a *little* different than the original reply to which you > replied... > > "Sorry for posting to an old topic - but I sold the iMac for $700.
