Here's a cry for help.
My OS X mail app is constantly asking me for the passwords to both my
roadrunner account and iTools mac.com accounts.
It never seems to like my iTools password and then I go into a dialog
box loop with a dialog box giving me an 'IMAP' message telling me that
my mac.com account name has a mailbox name not specified/authenication
failure. I re-enter my password many times but it won't accept it, the
IMAP message reappears, the loop continues and sometimes I'm lucky and
can click on cancel several times and then I can get into my rr mail.
Currently my iTools account is 'offline'.
I called AppleCare tech support and that was no help. We tried creating
a new account, I was lead on a tour of my utilities by tech support and
we came to no conclusion.
I then went to macFixit, registered for a OS X forum with my mac.com
address (optimist?) and when I went back tonight ot try to repost a
question to
a response to my earlier post at macFixit, it wouldn't accept my login.
Something up with my iTools account not being accepted for login?
In addition, the AppleCare tech guy couldn't understand anymore than I
why I'm also getting error messages about my roadrunner account's
"mailbox~/library/mail/mailboxes/deleted messages inbox is currently
locked by (me) on host..."
I just managed to get through these looping dialog boxes to post this.
Should I assume OS X's mail app is buggy and try to opt out entirely if
possible into another mail app. This is pretty frustrating! Hope I'm
able to check my mail for any possible input from you all tomorrow.
One sad mac user,
Donald
