Here's a compilation post concerning two other threads and one of mine
own.
1) I'm "happy" to report that I think the trouble I've been having with
the OS X mail application might be caused by a really bad server
situation on Apple's part and not some mysterious problem with my
computer. Cold comfort, but an explanation that's easier for me to live
with. After three stressful sessions with tech support that went down
three different paths, one product specialist pointed me to the iTools
discussion forums, where I discovered a post by one of the moderators
that indicated 20 % of iTool mail accounts were having similar problems
rooted in server problems.

2) I've heard that some people literally leave their computers on
24/7/365. Why? Is this really better for the hardware? I would almost
think it would
burn out? Is it comparable to human bodies getting habitual exercise
rather than a sedentary lifestyle? Could someone explain why one should
leave a computer running all the time? Sorry if I missed the explanation
in a recent post.

3) I recently had a dvd module replaced under Apple warranty. They made
it easy by sending me the new module in a box with prepaid postage for
the return of the old module via Airborne Express. Is this company the
one Apple always uses? Luckily, I didn't have a problem.
Thanks and regards,
Donald
