I would like to preface this post with an acknowledgment to the fact that the AppleCare program is all about the service contract.
Having said that, when I got my new FlatPanel iMac back in Feb. I also purchased the Applecare Program, and being curious I tried to boot up from the Tech Tool disc and was unable to do so. Seems the system folder they had on the disc was not compatible with my new iMac. I was able to burn my own copy to boot from, so no biggie. Just seems to me if they are going to sell a disc to help with problems on your computer, they would make sure it is compatible with the Mac there selling it with.
