Replying won't stop more messages from coming, it will just reset the
"bounce counter".  Maclaunch keeps track of how many times it can't deliver
mail to your account, and when that number reaches a certain amount, you are
automatically unsubscribed from the mailing list.  By replying and resetting
the bounce counter, you are keeping yourself from being unsubscribed.
