I dont know if you got my earlier letter, I may have posted it to the wrong address, w/ all the copying, deleting & pasting I did in the midst of sending my first reply to the gentleman from Canada. I am writing this from another Mac which didnt receive the original mail that I responded to. Sorry to say that I dont recall the name of the original poster. Was it Bryan?....
Anyhow, to reiterate, I used generic black ink cartridges supplied by dotsplus (Nashua, NH) which at first seemed like a friendly mom & pop company. The black tanks I received were made in China & I used them instead of Epson cartridges for actually over a year. At some point then, my Epson 740 would obey my commands to print, but no printed characters showed up on the page. I did at least five nozzle cleanings, alignments, all to no avail. Finally, I removed the cartridge & noticed a lot of ink that'd leaked out of the ink tanks, putting a lot of ink on the printer bed & partially onto the rollers. It was apparent to me that this had been going on for some time. Repair of the printer wouldv'e cost $ 60 US just for a diagnosis. It became obvious that it was more sensible for me todiscard the printer & get a new one. I made a number of complaints to the above company. The only answer I got was more emails advertising the specials of the month. I got a little snide & wrote the owner that it would be truly special for them to send me $60 to help replace the Epson that seemed to irreversibly clogged. No answer came. Of course, I'm still getting their solitations since I thought the owner would have the sense to unsubscribe me to their mailing list. It would be excellent to get some advice from experienced people as to which cartridges wont destroy your Epson printer.
