Same thing happened to me on my Titanium in 10.1.4. Easy solution. Go to
version tracker and download BatChmod . Here is the url
http://www.versiontracker.com/mp/new_search.m?productDB=mac&mode=Quick&OS_Fi
lter=MacOSX&search=batchmod&x=17&y=8

Run the program - - select your hard drive, and give yourself all
priivlleges.

Last week I posted my problem, not being able f.i. to drag a downloaded
file from desktop to my HD. The window said: You cannot modify your HD.
Jeremy Derr kindly reacted with a question, to see what the HD
privileges showed. Checking it showed what he said it should , with last
three boxes grayed. After informing the list of this situation no more
reactions or advise. Something must have gone wrong so I post again as
also because my wife's 400Mhz DV SE iMac running also OS X 10.1.4 with
768 MB Ram just like me on my Flat Mac, is now confronted wih the same
problem. We are on a 'home' LAN but I do not think it could be cross
contamination.

Been away for a few days and the first thing I want to do is to thank
all of you who offered advice and solutions for my problem. Most of all
I want to thank dagored who pointed the way to a fabulous software
called ' BatCHmod ' available at VersionTracker, All users of OS X
should have this in their toolbox to fight this Unix disabberation.

Greetings, Andre
