Hi Lister I am trying help to a lady who has a problem, her iMac internal modem keeps reporting, "No Dial Tone" I've tried on her phone line, on mine, swapped out the phone line cord with two others. Used the Apple support how-to on the problem. I think the modem is fried. What can be done if that is the case? Can an external USB modem be used, as a work around? I've seen low cost units on [swaps] list and eBay. Is that imac-list solution.
