A friend's blue iMac is having frequent booting failures.
Often it gives 4 beeps (which the manual says are chip or RAM problems).
Also sometimes gives the message "unable to prepare code fragment" which I
can't find anything about.
It has worked fine for about a year; if it can be persuaded (by multiple
tries) to boot it seems normal.

Any advice? It's a very humid climate here and the problems seemed to come
after it wasn't used for a while. The salty air and moisture here is good
at killing electrical and mechanical gear...
