i think it's time for all of us to grow up: we are in bottom-line times and if you
filter all the bewildering crap pulled by companies through that filter it ALL MAKES
SENSE!!!

No, you should not get a new 17" imac by paying the difference. Apple should pay
the difference!!!

But you know what, they don't care if your hard drive has died again, which makes no
sense without understanding the bottom-line filter; then it makes PERFECT SENSE!!
Absolutely perfect sense. Why should they spend *their* money to replace *your
computer* until the absolute very last moment when they realize that you are not
"going to let them get away with it."

Dr. Hunter S. Thompson might call it "Fear and Loathing in Computer-ville."

I swear sometimes i wish i had saved myself 1600 big ones and bot an Emachine for
about 5 big ones, (3 year extended warrenty for 89 bucks), and bought a cupla kayaks
with the difference. But Apple's propaganda got to me again.

And now, after testing OSX 10, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, & 10.5 on an unsuspecting
public (at least that's what Mac fans say when microsoft does it), they have the
gall to ask $129 for OSX 10.2. I say we take bets as to how soon we see 10.2.1. I
say within a month!!

Oh, if you buy a computer today or after and it doesn't come loaded with 10.2, you
can upgrade for only $19.95 (someone earlier called that the price for Shipping and
Handling: hell, even the televangelists don't try to pull off scams of that
magnitude!!).

I thot mac was supposed to make it all simple, easy, intuitive. well, i got some
florida swamp that i'll sell you for a hell of a price.

Henry David Thoreau didn't want to bring a mat into his Walden Pond cabin cuz he
didn't want to invite trouble (like, you know, fancy chairs for the mat, fancy
tables, big-screen tv's for the tables, etc. etc. etc.).

Well, Henry, here I am: got a mat, chairs, tables, tv's, cars, and a 1600 dollar
computer--the whole friggin meal-deal. I should-a listened to ya.

I'll try to do better next time, Henry.

Thanks for the 2nd chance!!

Peace and love,

Dale (hopin' to remember next time that it's just a computer, not nervana) G
