Uhm, I use my OS 8.1 or 8.5 or 9.1 disks all over the place.  They are all
original copies of the OS.  I dunno how to solve that pickle.  If the CD is
one of those original disks that came with a specific model and is labeled
as such, I am not sure that you can boot it on any old machine.  I used to
get by with an iMac's 8.1 installer on a bunch of 5200s by booting from a
zip or Syquest with CD support, and then locating the System Software
installers cuz either the disk will not boot because of a mach id conflict
or the installer script will not run because it's the "wrong" Mac.
