Does it boot with extensions disabled?  

I had a similar error message and trial and error proved it to be the
PGP software extensions.  A pain, as a reinstall of PGP (even from a
fresh download) didn't fix it.  I haven't tried reinstalling PGP since
I reloaded my system, so I don't know if that's where the problem was.
