If 8.6 works fine for you on your Bondi, you should stick with it. I think the key here is "fairly unassuming needs." Not everyone falls into this category. I know I don't, for one.
But eventually, the Internet, and the new ideas and things that you can do with computers -- such as better video editing and now wireless connectivity between cell phones/pdas/ipods/etc. -- will pass you by. But if all you want to do is check your e-mail and surf basic sites, that's fine. But eventually the applications of the Internet also may outgrow the current structure and abilities of your computer. As in, could you imagine loading a flash-heavy animated site on a pre-powerPC Mac? And in order for Apple to remain viable as a company, so that you have a place to go for your next computer when you finally decide that you want to move forward and "catch up" again, at least *some* of us have to support the "future" and buy the latest and greatest. If Apple doesn't sell, it won't be here anymore. Just plain business. But I don't think you should take all of the talk that some people throw around on the lists as pressure for you to give up what works. If 8.6 works fine for what you do, by all means, stay there. :-) -Steve Sobek On 8/20/02 7:56 AM, "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> huffed, and puffed, and blew my house in and said: > I have been an iMac user since the end of '99 when we got a Bondi Blue Rev.
