You can usually turn the control strip on or off and set options for it by
going to the "Control Strip" control panel, you can get to it under "Control
Panels" under the Apple menu.

If you don't have "Control Strip" in your "control Panels" submenu off the
Apple menu, then it's time to go to the Extensions Manager.

Have you tried restarting the computer? That's the first thing to try when
things on your computer get weird.

Often times an installer that must quit all the running applications will
cause the control strip to disappear. It will come back once you restart
the computer, or if you go to the "Control Strip" control panel you will
have the option of re-starting it.

Those folders marked "(disabled)" are normal, they are used by the
Extensions Manager to enable and disable parts of the system software.

I'd try the following:

1.) Restart the computer

2.) Try the "Control Strip" control panel

3.) Try the Extensions Manager again, does it still crash after you restart
the computer?
