Go into your system folder, go into the preferences remove the extension manager and control strip preferences. Just stick them in a new folder out of the system, or temporarily in the trash. Restart Your Mac. The system will create brand new versions of both preference files. Yur problems may go away/ If not you always have the OS re-install to fall back on. If everything works trash and delete the old preference files. A simple thing that can cure many strange software behavior problems.
