Hello,

I found out about this list from a bicycling list I am on..I am in the
process of buying a new mac, I have used my strawberry iMac for about 3
years now, it was my second mac. I have been looking at both the new iMac FP
15inch combo and the eMac combo. Both will do what I need, the questions
have to do with:

CRT screen vs. LCD. From what I have been told radiation should not be a
concern, the LCD might be a bit harder to keep, but easier on the eyes..

Noise: my strawberry is pretty noisy, it has a fan, I think the eMac should
be quieter..they did not seem noisy in the apple store, but at home it may
sound different. I know the iMac is pretty quiet, any comments on this?

OS X..I hear this is not a very easy transition and there are some quirks..I
am using 8.6.. I am not a computer expert, I just like to go on and do my
business, correspondence, email, internet. I am sure my 13 year old will
figure it out and teach me when she is in the mood..and speaking of a 13
year old, will the LCD hold up to fingers etc. that an adolescent will
subject it to?

I was thinking of upgrading either of these machines with an additonal 512
of memory. I think that should be enough for anything I would do.

Thanks for any and all help.
