Hey Everyone;

I hear many people talking about sharing their internet connection
across two or more Macs or PC's. For those of us who may be on a budget
their is a cheaper solution then buying a router, granted its not
wireless but its cheap! First get yourself some cat 5 ethernet cable to
link your computers, then get yourself an ethernet splitter and viola,
internet connection shared, I hooked up three macs just for the hell of
it, worked great too. At this point I have my Windows PC(homemade) and
my Imac sharing my DSL connection, both my roommate and I surf on both
computers at the same time with no problems. You can pick up Ethernet
cable online cheap $5 Dollars for 25ft at some places, I picked up my
cable and splitter from a local computer show for $9. Thats all it cost
me to set up three machines, you can get splitters that split up to
three lines off one line of ethernet! Anyway its low budget and its not
wireless but it works. If your on a budget this is the way to go, I do
plan on getting airport when I get my laptop thought, I am going to
need the wireless then!!
