What's up John;

The splitter goes on the back of the cable/dsl modem.
If you like I can send you a picture of my configuration off list. Its 
an ethernet splitter so it goes into that jack on the modem! currently 
I have two computers hooked up this way but more are possible with 
multiple splitters, I have tested this, as I have said before its still 
not wireless which is a major draw back, but the cost savings is great, 
however you don't get the security a router supplies!
