> Where can i go to for music sites? like napster but for mac? Nowhere, really. They're all gone, and the bit that's left sucks big time.
You might try visiting MP3.com, they have loads of legal MP3s from bands that WANT you to hear their music. You might also listen to (and support) internet radio stations that take chances and play unknowns. Other than that, it's actually cheaper to go out and buy the CDs than it is to struggle with the nonsense of attempting to pirate music. It's just not worth the hassle (well, for people who have good taste in music, anyway ... those boyband/girlpop airheads are always going to be able to find pirated crap -- more power to them!). Recently I've started reading more reviews and sampling tunes (from places like Amazon) to get a better feel for what I might be buying ... and you know what? It's actually fun. I'm making a list of new bands I want to check out: first I hear a sample, then I visit the band's web site, and if I still think I'd like them I head down to my local INDEPENDENT cd store and ask their recommendation (or listen in the store if possible) and then decide to buy the CD. This method seems to work VERY well. _Chas_ Come to ...
