Do you think Apple > resellers might have one? if you're iMac didn't come with an AHT CD, then there isn't an AHT CD that'll work on your computer. if your Hard Drive is showing up when you boot to CD, then it's probably just a System Software issue; my bet is that your System Folder is either not blessed or damaged. Boot to CD and look at your system folder. look closely at its icon; does it have a smiley face on it, or is it just a standard folder? if not, the system folder isn't blessed (that is, the computer doesn't know that it's a system folder). If it IS blessed, then you probably have a b0rked system folder. Either way, try this... open the System Folder and look for a suitcase icon called 'System' and a computer icon called 'Finder'. If you don't have both, then your system folder is missing critical components that it needs to start up. Double click on the 'System' suitcase. Do you get an error message (possible 99 or -99), or do you get a window with languages and/or countries listed? If you get an error message, your system folder is trashed, and you should probably clean install OS 9. If you get the languages, and your system folder didn't have the smiley face, then you should have just blessed your System Folder; close the System and System Folder and see if the System Folder has a smiley now.
