Low end Macs are the high-end Macs of yesteryear. People who are still 
using such Macs as the the Old Mac Plus, LC III, Quadras, even the 
first generation powerpc Macs like the 6100, 7100, 8100. They all could 
be low end Macs. I myself was using a Mac 7100/80 with a G3 upgrade 
card until a few weeks ago when I got a 800Mhz eMac.

The best thing you can do for any computer is put more RAM in it, I 
have 768MB in mine now and next week I am ordering a 512MB DIMM to 
replace the 256MB DIMM in the factory slot. That way I will have the 
max of 1Gig of RAM and OSX loves the RAM!
