Well of course. Mail doesn't care which ISP you use for your email (except for AOL), it will happily use whatever you feed it for your ISP and get your email from any email account you want (apart from AOL). You can have multiple email addresses, or just one, makes no difference to Mail. The original question was about web-based email checking.
