Thanks for the replies regarding a botched attempt at upgrading the os. Question now; while failling to upgrade to the newer os, can the os be reinstalled from CD (8.5.1) and still keep all the other stuff intack on the HD, or do you need to back it up on some storage device? Reason I ask is computer is so unreliable, using the external ZIP may prove to be a problem.
