Actually, that's not completely true: Copyright has been consistently 
extended far past it's original limit. These extensions have a way of 
coinciding with the time that Mickey Mouse's copyright would expire 
(dating, IIRC, from 1928).

Regardless, the discussion really has nothing to do with iMacs.

If you want to download copyright materials, there's little anyone can 
do to stop you (and I'm not referring to any particular "you" here). 
Let your conscience be your guide.

But then, I wouldn't necessarily come to this list expecting help.
