>Hi folks!
I'm beginning to branch out since getting my macs this year and am
designing my first website for a class. I'm using Photoshop (wow! what a
learning curve!) and now have to do a PowerPoint presentation on my
proposed site.
I use Windows XP at work and have just noticed that the PowerPoint in
Office x v.Mac seems to have only 1/2 the variety of slide designs that
the windows version has. Is this our lot as mac users...fewer options?
Trivial point I suppose, but I think I won't be able to work at home on
my Dalmatian with the PowerPoint presentation started at work with the
"mountain" design (I chose this design for my topic: economic
reconstruction in Afghanistan).
Has anyone else noticed this? Can I import the options from XP to my
v.Mac PowerPoint? I would think "no". The designs in the OS X version of
PowerPoint just seem lame in comparison to the Windows version. Maybe
I'm missing something here?
Thanks,
Donald<

Donald,

I can't answer your question with certainty, but at least ever since Office
98, Microsoft has been building both the Mac version and the Windows version
to have interchangeable document/slide/spreadsheet formats. I haven't yet
run into a problem with opening a file created on the Windows version of
Office with my Mac Office. Therefore, I don't think you have anything to
loose by at least trying to work your slides with your Mac Office. I think
you probably could even import that particular template design, but I
honestly don't know. Try it and see if the Mac version lets you.
