Anyway, the System Folder on the iMac CD refuses to boot on a hard disk. I
tried installing Mac OS 9 on a 5400 this way; it told mew "This System
Folder only works on its original media." If you have a generic Mac OS 9 CD
(not an iMac CD), then do a clean install on the 6500 and make it a
"Universal System." There's not an option for this in the 9 installer unless
I missed something last time I used it, so just select the minimum options.
After copying to the iMac, make sure the System Folder has a Mac face icon
on it. If it doesn't, try opening and closing it or moving the Finder (or
any other) file out of the folder and then putting it back in.
