Hi All,

Well, my Earthlink account, after much telephone talking and emailing 
and tinkering, keeps "disconnection because of lack of response from the 
other side."  Today, it was so bad that using the net was impossible.

So.  I set up an account for my University Dial Up connection:  NO 
PROBLEM.

Earthlink's latest suggestion is to call my local phone company and ask 
them about any line noise that may exist between my location and the 
locations of the only 2 phone #'s that I can call for Earthlink.  I 
think I'll do that later this week.

At any rate, this proves:

1.      its not a problem with my modem
2.      its not a problem with my computer
3.      its not a problem with my house phone jacks
4.      its not a problem with my telephone wire
5.      its not a problem with my internet settings

So, I'm overall pretty darn happy.  If the earthlink connection isn't 
resolved fast, I'll drop it and request a month's refund of the monthly 
connection fee.
