Slashdot is not satire, and generally reliable... but often very slanted. Digitimes isn't well known for accuracy, and many of their articles suffer from losing a lot in translation, and are unfortunately very short on both length and details. I would expect some sort of truth behind the article.... but there's no telling what details aren't included.
