Dale: Please see my other post for possible suggestions. I don't have any clear idea what's wrong there and I am most definitely not blaming you for the problem (I suspect you have a faulty/flaky modem, but that's just a guess). However, do you seriously think that most (or even anything above 0.1%) of OS X owners are having these kinds of problems?? How long would Apple stay in business if there products were anything less than mostly perfect? Again, I'm not blaming you. Clearly there is some kind of fault somewhere on your machine or in the phone line. But to suggest that Apple is producing machines that do what yours is doing ALL THE TIME is plainly ridiculous. I understand you are very frustrated. I hope (very sincerely) that one of the suggestions I have put forth in my other message are helpful in resolving the situation. If you'd like, I invite you to email me a recap of the specific problems, machine config and a copy of your TCP/IP settings in OS X.
