With Jaguar they seemed to have included recognition for huge number of 
cameras into iPhoto. We haven't found a camera yet, with either USB or 
Firewire that iPhoto and iMovie didn't find and recognize. That's 
Canon, Sony, Kodak, Nikon and Vivitar in our case.

It's very possible that OS X, 10.2.2 and higher, will solve your camera 
recognition problem? This wasn't the case with 10.1, but it sure is 
with Jaguar.
