Its given a new life to many scanners where their manufactures can't or couldn't be bothered to produce OSX support, and all from one man without the support of a large corporation. Your 3450 is simply a 3400 with a trany hood, which is listed not all supported. When VueScan is downloaded it can be tried before purchase, so nothing is lost.
