Well, it could be considered "excellent", provided you were lucky enough to have one of the supported scanners. The impression I get is that there are more unsupported scanners than there are supported ones, and it seems that most of the low-cost scanners that most people own are not supported. I get the impression that it's geared more towards the high-end users with high-priced scanners. That's just my impression, I wasn't intending to offend anyone. It's just one more thing that Apple doesn't have any built-in support for in OS X. Oh, well - just have to live with it the way it is.
