Hi,
I purchased 4 - 256MB SODIMMS at various times for my Rev B iMac. I had never
had any problems with 32MB, 64MB or 128MB dimms. I always bought ram for
iBooks because it was significantly cheaper and it always worked. After the
4th SODIMM that acted as 128MB, I "bit the bullet" and bought a 256MB from
whatever vendor was the cheapest at "http://www.ramseeker.com";. At the time,
256MB for iBooks was $25 and 256MB for iMacs was $40, but this time it
worked. As long as you pay the price for the iMac ram, it will work.
It appears to be about $55 now for a 256MB:

Good luck,
Gary Fortman
