Norton is famous (infamous) for causing
trouble if the stuff on the CD is Installed.
I would advise that you remove everything
that Norton has installed.
Then, if you strongly desire running Norton,
run it from the CD only.

Also, I suggest that you buy DiskWarrior.
It is the best repair software available.
Way better than Norton.
Then, run DiskWarrior immediately. It might help.

(I am referring to Norton stuff only.
Not the other items on the System Works CD.
I have no knowledge re these other items being good or bad.)
