Let me get this straight. I can buy a used Mac, if it is within one
year old, and buy Applecare for it.

I asked today at the store and the guy said no, because it is a used
Mac I can't buy Applecare. They have a very nice iBook, almost new,
very discounted because it is lacking its cds and externals. I want to
buy it, but I also want applecare. Can I buy Applecare directly from
Apple on a used machine?

I went to the Apple site and downloaded their terms and agreements
file, and info file. They say I can transfer Applecare, but nothing
about buying it on a used machine.

Sorry to beat this to death. And I know I can't hold Apple to anything
said on this list ;-( But I would like your input, if you have
personally done this, bought Applecare directly from Apple for a used
machine (within its first year).
