There used to be a version of Painter that would come free when you bought a
Wacom tablet. It's black&white only, but it simulates all kinds of drawing and
painting tools and is really fun. You can splash paint around without getting it
on your clothes!
A version of Painter still comes with the low wnd Wacom tablet, Painter Classic (MacOs 9, MacOs X). Its not a Black & White program: full color, with pressure control with a variety of paint brushes when used with the tablet.
