Rev B, OS 9.1, 512 MB RAM, 500 MHz G3 Sonnet upgrade.

Whenever I try to shutdown or restart, my iMac freezes, though the
cursor still moves. The computer has NEVER booted from a CD by
holding down the "c" key, so the only way to do a restart is to use
the paperclip in the side. I've forced it to boot up from an CD by
putting the CD in the drive, and then pulling the System File out of
the system folder, thus making it find the system on the CD. I then
run TechTool Pro & DiskWarrior which fixes it for a couple of days
and then it starts all over again. Any suggestions before I do a
re-install of MacOS 9.1?

Sincerely,
Dennis
