I just got a 350 on Ebay. The description said the monitor was fuzzy. I figured I could tweak it a bit and get a good deal, unfortunately this one actually is messed up worse than just a little potentiometer tweaking can fix.
It has all the colors so the RGB guns are working. As you look at it the left side is bowed in like a backwards C but the right side is strait though out of register. It looks like everything is smudged to the right with kind of a blur to the right of everything. I took it apart and tried adjusting the potentiometers atop the board at the base of the CRT, the 6 tabbed circular things around the base and the two adjustments on the black plastic box to the side and though I could see what effect each item was doing nothing helped pull back out that backwards C on the left side. I also took off all the related plugs and reseated them to see if that was the problem with no effect. Only thing I saw that I thought might be the problem is below the board that the 3 potentiometers is on there is what appears to be a magnet glued on the right side inside a plastic holder. There is a similar plastic holder on the left side but without the magnet. I took it completely apart to see if the magnet had came loose and was stuck to something inside the case but couldn't find it.... if it was supposed to be there in the first place... that is. Anyone got any ideas. I got this one for around $100 less than I would have been able to usually so I'm still not really losing anything if I have to pick up one with a dead logic board or PS. I'm watching two on Ebay now and I put a post on the swap list. Just wanted to see if anyone knew of something I missed. I was going to break down my wife's Rev B iMac to see if there really is supposed to be a magnet there but she threatened my life if I messed with her baby so thats out... at least til she goes to work :D Matt Current Stable of Macs..
