Dear LEM Listers, On eBay right now there are quite a few install discs for OS9.2.1 running for auction. One of them (there are quite a few that all seem to be exactly this same thing) , for example, is listed as:
Apple Mac OS 9.2.1 Classic Full Install CD - Item # 3403819454 with the following URL: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3403819454&category=14912 My question is whether this would be the correct CD-ROM for installation on my iMac Rev. A, drawer loading model. I have it maxed with 384 meg of RAM, so that should be enough as the description on the auction page indicates. I want to upgrade my iMac from OS 8.6 and am uncertain whether this (OS 9.2.1) will work *without* OS X on my machine, which I am not interested installing on it at this time. I am not entirely clear with what the seller is saying in the description. Any advice on this product would be appreciated. Would someone be willing to check this auctionto see if they can verify per the decsciption there whether this would be the right one for an upgrade on my machine. Sorry to seem so dumb, but better safe than sorry, I say... and you folks will know better than I, I am sure.
