Yes, you need some files from the Win95 CD, i.e. you need a licensed
copy of Win95. Many Win98 owners have such a thing. Considering
that Win95 was shipped with just about every (non-Mac) computer
on Earth in 1996 through 2001, it shouldn't be hard to buy a licensed
copy of it. Specifically, you'd be best off with an OEM copy of OSR2
which was an OEM release that supported the FAT-32 file system.

You'll find that they have become rather more affordable. And again, if
all you're trying to do is run some vertical market app that runs on Win95,
I'd just use that. It's small, fast, not extremely featureful, and OSR2 was
relatively solid.

p.s. I know it's beside the point, but I also have just finished installing
Linux (the Lycoris version) on VP5 -- painless, once you figure out
what kind of video card you're supposed to have...  Performance is
pretty good, though not as fast as Win95.
