just can the software and go for Toast?
Iomega's HotBurn is less than stellar software. At least it has been on my Mac's with a couple of different Iomega units. For burning on a Mac, Toast is the solution in my book. It's a great piece of software. If you plan to do much burning? Treat yourself to a full version of Toast. You'll be a happy camper.

It's a great example of what we all want software to be: Reliable, flexible, functional, easy to use and priced reasonably. No financial interest, etc., just a happy Toast user for a long time. It makes less coasters than any burning software I have ever found.
