Hi, While you're looking around, check out a thing (using google) called "freesco"...
This is a one floppy version of Linux that will run on a throwaway PC and turn it into a router/firewall. I took an old small 486 box, took out everything except motherboard, floppy, memory, video card, and two ethernet cards, total investment about $20.00 and about an hour. Then downloaded the floppy image, put it on a floppy, booted the PC and configured the system. Works perfectly, extremely fast, routes to a hub that serves (with sub-hubs) around 15 Macs (including iMacs and B&W boxes) and some laptops and PCs. I've been using it for about a year with no problems at all. It even has a remote management web interface. It's worth a look... HTH...
