I would absolutely recommend a router. I am on a cable modem with just one
imac and recently bought a D-Link brand router. It was very easy to set up
and is very small, but provides the protection level I need.
The routers are very cheap. This one was $99.00 (cdn). I had originally
planned to buy a Linksys router but read the reviews on them and given the
lack of documentation and support they offered for Macs, decided to go with
Dlink instead.
