Hold down the power button until it shuts off (takes about 5 seconds), 
then press it again to restart.

I hate doing that. Everything I know (or think I know) about machines and 
electronics says a power-cycle like that is BAD. I'd still like to have 
some sort of reset button. Then again, with OS X, I haven't had much need 
for one.
