I wouldn't write off Macs all together. That's kind of extreme. I
understand you made an investment in a Mac that has caused you nothing
but trouble. My advice to you is never buy an all it one computer for
this very reason. You have a good Mac with a bad display and now
there's nothing you can do about it because it's an all in one. I would
give Apple another call an explain all the problems you have had with
the eMac and see if they will do anything for you. At the least give
you a discount on a new Mac. The other thing is don't buy a CRT
monitor. The CRT was invented in the days of the vacuum tube! It's old
technology. If your going to go the used route I would say get a cube
and a nice flat screen display to go with it. If a cube is to slow for
you get a G4 upgrade for it. Once again sorry to hear about all your
troubles. If I had the money I would offer to buy it from you since it
sounds like something I could fix. At this point if your still looking
for a reason to stay with Apple I've got a good one for you. The Mac
community, such as this list. It doesn't matter what company you buy a
windoze box from, you will never find a community like the one us Mac
users have.
Good luck to you
TK
