actually... it's a common everyday occurrence for anyone using an alternative keyboard layout. More often, I find myself trying this method in a situation where I assume that the Dvorak layout isn't recognized, only to find out that it IS working - common in games, primarily, because many hard-code keys rather than using the system IOKit to capture keystrokes.
